Rick Engineering
Company prepared construction documentation for improvements
to
this one acre park which included on-site parking,
a shelter, site lighting, park furniture, irrigation,
and planting. The park site is divided by an existing
joint-use parking. A pedestrian corridor lined
with trees, site furniture and interlocking pavers
provides a safe connection between the divided
site. This park was designed to work around existing
facilities and creative design was used to make
those existing facilities seemingly blend within
the design as if all improvements were master planned.
Safety was also a design consideration with natural
landscaping and lighting plans optimizing open
space, exposure, and access. Given the existing
facilities that posed an additional challenge on
this project, public involvement was a key component
of the project.
