Savannah Terrace is
comprised of 331 two-story townhomes on approximately 31 acres
located within the award winning master planned community of
Sabre Springs in the north county region of the City of San
Diego.
Rick
Urban Design and Planning has been involved
in the planning and entitlement process of this
highly successful community since the early 1980’s. The
planning of Savannah Terrace considered some major factors
that would ultimately have a significant influence on the placement/
orientation of structures, vehicular and pedestrian circulation.
The site was constrained due to being adjacent to and between
two major thoroughfares and a natural open space (MHPA) area.
The success of the project was measured by its acknowledgment
of these major development constraints and how they were dealt
with project-wide. Placement of structures, landscape buffering,
pedestrian connections to regional facilities all played a
part in the integration of the project's components.
