Rick Engineering Company prepared plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E) for this project which consisted of the widening of South Palm Canyon Drive (2,000 l.f.) from two lanes to four lanes, including widening of the existing Cherly Creek Bridge. The preliminary engineering and environmental studies included an Initial Study, HEC-2 hydraulic analysis, Fluvial-12 scour analysis, and preparation of the necessary CEQA document (Negative Declaration).

Final Engineering services included a Geotechnical Design Report, roadway and bridge widening plans, prepartion of a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), as well as the preparation and processing of environmental permits through the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE), Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), and the California Department of Fish & Game (CDFG). Project plans included roadway plan and profile, bridge widening, grading, drainage, signing & striping, and traffic control plans.

Rick Engineering worked closely with the City of Palm Springs, Riverside County Flood Control & Water Conservation District, adjacent development engineers, and the various environmental permitting agencies throughout the project design and processing phases.
