The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) has rights through easement and fee ownership to numerous parcels throughout Southern California. Rick Engineering Company provided the expertise of a professional land surveyor to perform surveys by field methods and photogrammetry in order to locate appurtenances found on the ground and visible within the aerial photography. Measurements from the field survey and photogrammetric mapping were combined to produce the base mapping from which each parcel was analyzed. This analysis was conducted from not only the mapping products but also from the analysis of the photogrammetric model by the survey analyst.

Rick Engineering's cadastral analysis group and the photogrammetrists are located within steps of one another. This immediate proximity fosters a unique ability to use in-house photogrammetry as a tool to analyze parcels. Each of these projects consisted of the mapping and analysis of a single to many parcels. A CADD file, Record of Survey and monumentation was provided for each parcel.
