Candidate will have a degree in Planning plus six years experience
or equivalent work experience of ten years, which includes a wide
range of private and public sector planning and urban design projects.
Candidate must have knowledge and experience relating to architecture,
planning, landscape and grading design in order to integrate a
comprehensive approach to problem solving; Excellent oral and written
communication skills; Computer and/or hand graphics abilities and
knowledge/experience in the land entitlement process.
Position requires an understanding of building types, especially
housing and public realm typologies; three-dimensional thinking
and a commitment to principles of sustainability and urban infill.
Must also possess an understanding of physical land planning principles
and be able to translate conceptual ideas into a hand drawn or
computer-generated format.

Science, Land Surveying, or related field plus a minimum of 8 years
GIS experience, including a minimum of 5-years project management
experience (or minimum equivalent and related work experience of
12 years).
Marketing Skills:
Candidate must posses excellent public speaking skills. This position requires
the ability to market GIS services both in-house and outside of the organization.
Requires preparation of contracts, proposals, schedules, and ability to generate
work and coordinate with clients.
Applicant must show history of ability to establish strong, positive working
relationships with clients, public agency personnel and in-house professionals.
Management Skills:
This management position requires the ability to manage budgets, contracts,
schedules, deadlines, and workloads for multiple GIS projects. Applicant
must have a minimum of 5 years experience with overseeing department personnel
and effectively training staff to perform GIS tasks. Position will require
detailed training of staff and monitoring of product quality control.
Additionally this position requires effective problem solving
ability and skills to develop innovative GIS tools and techniques;
experience with developing GIS Systems and applying complex GIS
system design. Requires integration of GIS within the Landscape,
Engineering, Planning, and Surveying Divisions of the Corporation.
Experience with the following software is a must:
ESRI ArcGIS Software Suite, Visual Basic, Python, and/or ESRI AML Programming,
AutoCAD and/or Microstation, Microsoft Office Suite, PhotoShop/Adobe Suite
Candidate must have expertise in developing authoring, creating,
and executing Programming and Scripts for integration with all
related ESRI software suite products, data calculation and management.
Graphics training related to exhibit preparation, as well as CADD,
and database management software, and preparing 3-dimensional photo
simulation modeling is desired.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
Position requires a good driving record. Professional Certification (GISP)
is beneficial.
A portfolio of previous GIS projects and deliverables will be
