Our Philosophy

The Water Resources Division is an established and integral part of Rick Engineering Company and provides services to public agencies, private developers, and individual property owners. The Division was established in 1978 in response to an increasing demand for hydrologic and hydraulic analyses. Since that time, the Division’s services have grown to include stormwater management, specialized water resources modeling, drainage design, and planning programs that have been applied to projects throughout California and Arizona.

The Water Resources Division has a broad range of experience in surface runoff modeling, flood control, hydraulic and sediment transport analyses, urban drainage design, and stormwater quality that is valued by clients who are faced with complex drainage related water resources issues. Our staff is up-to-date on the evolving construction and post-construction stormwater quality regulations and requirements.

The Water Resources Division maintains a staff of engineers familiar with local, state, and federal agency requirements. The Division uses state-of-the-art equipment and modeling techniques drawing from the abilities of our in-house GIS Services Division to assist with mapping and modeling, and up-to-date water resources modeling capabilities and software.

We commonly perform water resource design services that integrate flood control with innovative stormwater quality solutions for a wide variety of projects including:
