The Divisions strong history of quality projects
is evidenced by a this representative listing:
The West Mission Bay Drive Bridge links Mission Bay with the Point
Loma area. It is currently
a 4-lane prime arterial carrying 60-K ADT. Immediately to the south of the
bridge is the I-8 interchange and just to the north of the bridge is the Sea
World Drive interchange. Rick Engineering prepared the Traffic Study for the
widening of the bridge, integrating the future traffic volume need, ROW reservation
for a Bus Rapid Transit System, and the interchange constraints.
A bikeway feasibility study for approximately 1.25
miles of a Class I facility
along the San Diego River was prepared for the City of San Diego. The project
included the development of several bike path alignments within the project
area. Possible alignments were evaluated and analyzed in terms of consistency
with community plans, continuity with existing bicycle facilities, community
concerns, environmental concerns, right-of-way acquisition, traffic safety
and circulation.
This master
plan was used to assist City staff in improving the quality of illumination
throughout the City. The project involved an inventory of the Citys existing
street lights. All data was entered/imported into an ARC/INFO database so that
it could be used by City staff to search street lights by functional classification.
A photometric analysis of the existing street lighting network of various key
locations was also provided via text and graphical format.
The City
of Escondido retained Rick Engineering to prepare a traffic study and analyze
Centre City Parkway from SR 78 to Washington Street. Centre City Parkway is
the Citys most significant roadways in terms of traffic volume and width.
The traffic study outlined the constraints and limits of various widening scenarios
culminating in the recommendation of a preferred alternative. Rick Engineering
then prepared the PS&E for the alternative.
The Mercado
Business District requested the City of Escondido integrate the Mercado Business
District with the Citys Central Business District; the two districts
are separated by Centre City Parkway. Rick Engineering was retained to prepare
a study which would make recommendations for improved vehicle and pedestrian
access, improved parking and improved lighting. The project included presentations
to the Business District and City Council. The report was followed by PS&E
for the preferred alternative.
The Traffic Divisions strengths and benefits
are made evident by the broad client base for whom we have provided services
